Charlotte used to be a spotter friendly airport. However, in recent months, many actions have been taken that impact our ability to spot at Charlotte airport, that many would not consider spotter friendly. At many locations, you are subject to be sent away by airport security or over-eager employees. The parking deck is no longer free for the first hour, but charges after 15 minutes. There is still a dedicated spotting area, but this is subject to be closed when the construction for the new runway at Charlotte begin. A new location has yet to be announced.
