Over the last few weeks, Qatar Airways has been performing various chartered freight flights to Charlotte. With the loss of most wide body services to Europe, freight demand for the Charlotte area has been steadily increasing. This can also be seen in other airports in the area, like Greenville-Spartanburg, where holiday charter airline TUI is performing chartered freight flights multiple times a week to ensure the supply chain to still be intact.
Its not clear who the customers are for these flights, and what exactly has been brought to the city. We’ll keep you posted when we hear more. It is also not yet clear for how much longer these flights will be going on.
